Version 1.1 of 14 September 2026. This text describes our current practice faithfully and is being reviewed by specialist counsel before the commercial launch.
The permits published here are public data: we take them as they are from the Brussels-Capital Region's Nova open-data service, under CC-0, with UrbIS for the location. We did not get them from you, and we hold no names. If a residential address concerns you, you can ask for its removal without having to justify it.
Where the data comes from
From the Brussels-Capital Region's public register of planning and environmental permits, published as open data. We take the reference, the type, the status, the dates, the address, the description of the works, the areas and the parcel geometry, and we add our own computed fields.
We do not hold your name. The open feed contains none — no applicant, no owner, no architect — and we cross-reference it with no property, company or population register.
A permit stays tied to an address, which can point indirectly at a person. Our legal basis is legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)): making a public register usable and keeping the history the source itself does not keep. The data stays online for as long as the service exists, as it does at the source.
Asking for a removal
We accept any removal request concerning a residential address, without asking you to justify it. That is stricter than the law requires.
The address and its permits then leave the public pages and the sitemap, and stop being indexed. We cannot correct the case file itself: an error in a permit is put right by the commune or the Region. Our own computed fields we do correct, on request.
Write to affiche@alturb.be. We answer within 30 days. Your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection are exercised at the same address, and you may lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Bruxelles.
If you visit the site
The site is free to use and asks for no account. It sets no cookies, uses no third-party trackers and no ad network — which is why you see no cookie banner. Audience measurement is a Plausible instance we host ourselves, which builds no profile.
Server logs keep IP addresses for 30 days, for security and abuse prevention. Hosting, backups and processing are in the European Union.
